“Heart” was the fourth and last single of the album “Actually”, reaching the No. 1 positing in the UK music charts and was never released in the US. The cover was designed by Mark Farrow with photos by Erick Watson who was very enthusiastic to work on a photo shooting with the band using the wardrobe they had from the recent BPI awards. The photo style was clearly inspired by the work of the british-irish figurative painter Francis Bacon where Neil & Chris represented very well the expressionism in each photo used. Farrow wanted to show the intention of the lyrics and the repeated titule in the cover by using a bold, condensed and very prominent title… once again, he didn’t put the name on the band in the cover letting the design to speak for itself. With “Heart”, Mark Farrow started with the tradition of using Neil & Chris in different covers of the same single. |

Two
versions of the same 7” Single with the B-Side “I get excited (you get
excited too)” were released: one with Neil in the cover and one with Chris,
both with a ‘brown-coloured’ cover. The same happened with the 12” Single
that included remixes by the Pet Shop Boys and Shep Pettibone but this
time in ‘blue-coloured’ covers. A second 12” Remixes Singles was released
including another Julian Mendelsohn and Shep Pettibone's remixes but this
time the cover included both Neil & Chris in a ‘brown-coloured’ photo
and with the title “Remix” instead of the regular title “Heart”. The same
cover was used for the Cassette Single version and a ‘blue-coloured’ version
for the CD Single, both with the “Heart” title. There wasn’t significant
cover variations on the international releases but including the name
of the band in countries like Spain or Argentina. A very interesting thing
about the design is that the Back Cover layout was used in the following
album release: “Introspective” and some of its singles with a single colour
background (black in most of the cases) and text boxes for each track.
